HathiTrust ETAS deactivation notice

by Roz McConnaughy on 2021-04-29T14:18:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

The HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service (ETAS) was put in place last year to provide faculty, students and other researchers remote access to print collections that were restricted during the pandemic. That temporary access will be deactivated Monday, May 10.

What the deactivation means:

Users will still have search access to the full HathiTrust collection of the approximately 17.4 million digitized items, as well as full-text, downloadable access to approximately 6.8 million of those items. Users will no longer have digital access to the “Temporary access” titles through HathiTrust.

Additionally, the requirement that the Libraries restrict access to in-copyright print materials found in the HathiTrust Digital Library will no longer apply, and materials that had been marked “Physical use temporarily prohibited” in the library catalog will now be available for checkout.
