McMullen and Riley Recognized for State Service Milestones

The Library is proud to announce that Karen McMullen, Head of Access Services, has reached a milestone of 30 years of service with the state of South Carolina. Karen began her service with the state in 1989 as the periodicals check-in supervisor at the UofSC Thomas Cooper Library. After receiving her Master of Library and Information Science degree, she joined the South Carolina State Library in 1995 and served as a reference librarian until 2003. She then returned to Thomas Cooper Library as a Serials Acquisitions Librarian from 2003-2008 and has been with the School of Medicine Library since 2008 as the Head of Access Services.

Ruth Riley was recognized this year for the milestone of 20 years of service having joined the School of Medicine as Director of Library Services in 2000.
