• The group study rooms may be used by full-time medical or graduate students enrolled in School of Medicine programs. Other groups may use a room, but must give up the room when full-time School of Medicine medical or graduate students need it.
• Group study rooms are only for groups of 2 or more people. If there are unoccupied rooms, a single person may use a room but must give up the room when a group is waiting to use it.
• Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Students may not leave items in a room. Leaving items in a room does NOT reserve the room. Once a room is left unoccupied, it is free for use by another group, whether or not personal belongings have been left behind.
• The group study rooms may only be reserved for curriculum-based classes or programs, and for various library programs. A School of Medicine faculty or staff member must make the reservations. Students are NOT allowed to reserve the rooms.
• To reserve the room, please stop by or call the Circulation Desk at 803-216-3200.
• Weekly reservation schedules are posted outside the door of each room.
Students may request to use the library’s 1st Floor Conference Room during staffed business hours only when all group study rooms, and the Library Classroom are in use. Three group study rooms are available on the 2nd floor of the Library and the Library Classroom is located on the 1st floor of the library. If those rooms are all in use, please ask at the front desk if you may use the Conference Room.
Yes, there are study rooms on the first floor of Building 3. These rooms are not maintained or monitored by the Library.
• Keep noise levels to a minimum.
• Keep the rooms clean. There are trash cans in every room.
• Be aware that maintenance crews clean the Library at night. There will be some noise involved. Let these people do their jobs so they may finish quickly.
• Notes left on the boards will be erased.
• Do not open windows. This is a security issue, and it also interferes with the building's climate control system.
• Do not lock the study room doors.
• Go to the Library's Circulation Desk if you need supplies.
• If you have any problems or complaints, please see someone at the Library's Circulation Desk.
• A Noise Complaint Form is available to report noise issues on the 2nd floor (Quiet Zone).
