Library Classroom Use Policy

Who can use the Library's classroom?

  • The classroom may be used by School of Medicine faculty and full-time medical or graduate students enrolled in School of Medicine programs.
  • The classroom is available on a first-come, first-served basis to groups of 2 or more. A single person may use the classroom but will need to give up the room if a group is waiting to use it.
  • The door will remain unlocked.

Can the classroom be reserved?

  • The classroom can be reserved for curriculum-based classes, faculty development and continuing medical education programs, guest speaker programs, and library programs. A School of Medicine faculty or staff member must make the reservations. Students are NOT allowed to reserve the room.
  • SOM students may reserve the room for official SOM organization meetings.
  • To reserve the room, please stop by or call the Circulation Desk at 803-216-3200.
  • A weekly reservation schedule is posted outside the door of the classroom.

What other regulations do I need to know about?

  • Turn off all equipment if not in use.
  • If you disconnect any cables, you MUST re-connect them before leaving the classroom.
  • Please turn off the lights when leaving the classroom.
  • The room must be kept neat and all trash must be removed before leaving.
  • Please return furniture to its original position.
