How to borrow the traveling exhibit?

  • If your library is interested in borrowing the  traveling exhibit, email the Web & Outreach Librarian at steve.wilson@uscmed.sc.edu.

How much does it cost to host the exhibit?

  • The University of South Carolina School of Medicine does not charge a booking fee to borrow the exhibit. The only expense for your institution is the cost of shipping from and back to the USC SOM Library. Host institutions ship banner and poster exhibitions using either Federal Express/UPS Ground Service for a cost estimated between $30 and $40 each direction, depending on distance, for an estimated total of $60 to $80.
  • Also, the traveling exhibit is part of the outreach and education mission of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Library and must be made available free-of-charge to the public.

Where do I send the exhibition after it closes at my institution?

  • Using either Fed Ex Ground or UPS Ground, you will return the exhibit to:
    Steven Wilson
    USC School of Medicine Library
    School of Medicine Library
    Columbia, SC 29208

How hard is it to install/break down the exhibit?

  • Assembling the banner exhibition is relatively simple but is best accomplished by two people working as a team. You can plan on spending 30 minutes unpacking, assembling, and installing the exhibition at your location.
  • The banners are repacked into the two plastic graphics containers in which they were received. Each banner stand is packed in an individual cloth bag then placed inside the larger cardboard mailing tube--four cloth bags total.  The two graphics tubes should be placed in the smaller cardboard mailing tube.  These two cardboard tubes should then be mailed back together.

Where can I find supplemental materials for the exhibition?

  • On this page you will find links to products that you can use for outreach and publicity purposes, including the following: bookmarks, poster, patron survey, and host survey.

Why do I need to complete a the Surveys?

  • We ask you to complete the Host Survey Report about what went well with your hosting experience and to gather information for future research and future exhibition creations. The Host Survey Report is a short form that you can complete online and return to us via e-mail at steve.wilson@uscmed.sc.edu.   The Patron Survey Report is a printable form available on this site and should be made available to your patrons.
